Nexus One to South Korea, complete with Froyo

Seems the Nexus One will head to South Korea thanks to KT. The carrier announced that it will be offering the Nexus One, but not just that, it will also include the complete version of Android 2.2 (Froyo). Seems KT picked up Google’s Nexus One habit, with the exception they seem to be one of the first carriers to physically sell the phone. The phone will be available without contract from the carrier for 699,600 won (or about $576), but you’ll also be able to get it for just 150,000 won (or $125) on a two-year contract. Not many surprises beyond that, but it looks like supplies will be limited to just 4,000 units for the June 21st launch — although KT promises it will be readily available at stores across the country in July.

There are two interesting keys to all this. First off, Android 2.2 (Froyo), as stated they will have the final version which could mean any day now we will receive our updates for Nexus One in the United States.

Second Point: The Nexus One is still alive and still seems to be Google’s Flagship phone. Most argue that their decision to sell exclusively from the Google Online store was a bad decision or was it? We should all consider the following: Google loves to study and learn user habits. I’m not surprised they went with that decision at all. Though the Nexus One is not by all means perfect, it is definitely getting there. Most of us are running the unofficial Froyo, and for me, it improved the overall performance and behavior of the phone.
